Before you start
- A published Wix site with a connected domain, which means a paid Wix plan.
- Your code from your assistant's Widget page.
Steps
- Sign in, open your assistant's Widget page and copy the one line of code shown there. It starts with <script and ends with </script>.
- In your Wix site's dashboard, go to Settings.
- Under Development & integrations, click Custom Code.
- Click + Add Custom Code at the top right.
- Paste your code and give it a name, like "Chat assistant".
- Under Add Code to Pages, choose All pages, loaded once per visit or on each page.
- Under Place Code in, choose Body - end.
- Click Apply.
- Open your website in a new tab and look for the chat bubble in the bottom-right corner. Your Widget page shows "Widget live" once it has been seen on your site.

Good to know
- Wix ties custom code to your domain. If you connect a different domain later, Wix deletes your snippets and you'll need to add the code again.
- These steps are from Wix's guide for the Wix Editor. Wix Studio may lay the menus out differently.
Can't edit your website?
Every assistant has its own chat page. Link to it from your website's menu, your Google Business Profile, social media or email signature. Or use "Email this to my web person" on your Widget page to send the code to whoever runs your site.
Questions
Why isn't my Wix custom code working?
Check the site is published and has a connected domain, that the code is set to All pages, and that you're viewing the live site rather than the editor preview.
Can I add a chatbot to a free Wix site?
Not with code, because Wix only allows custom code on sites with a connected domain. Link to your assistant's chat page instead.
