AI Chat Bot vs SiteGPT: the SiteGPT alternative with every feature on every plan

SiteGPT and AI Chat Bot are both AI chatbots that learn from your own website. Both now pitch themselves to service businesses that can't afford to miss a lead. This page is for the small or local business choosing between them: what each does when a customer asks something, what each costs at real volumes, and how to move over. Every SiteGPT price and limit was checked on October 1, 2026.

The short answer

One reads more. The other does more with each visitor.

Choose AI Chat Bot if you run a local business with a normal-sized website and the job is turning visitors into booked customers. Every plan includes everything: lead emails with a reminder and a backup contact, real free times from Google Calendar, a webhook to your CRM, rules written for your trade, and a Results screen that measures what the assistant adds. It holds to your facts by a check, not only by an instruction, and there's a Free plan to start. Starter is $19 a month for 1,500 customer messages.

Stay with SiteGPT if you need it to read thousands of pages, YouTube videos or a Notion workspace, if your team wants to take over chats live from a shared inbox or an iPhone app, or if you need WhatsApp, Messenger, Slack or Zendesk, an API, or a SOC 2 Type II report. SiteGPT has all of those. We don't.

How we compared

We make AI Chat Bot. We compared it with SiteGPT using SiteGPT's pricing page in both its monthly and yearly views, its plans and limits reference, its help docs on answers, leads, human support and billing, and its security page, all read on October 1, 2026, and our own product as it works today. We didn't buy a SiteGPT plan for this page. SiteGPT has few public reviews (12 on G2 when we looked), so we quote one and say so. Where SiteGPT is the better pick, we say that too.

Why people switch

Why people look for a SiteGPT alternative

SiteGPT is a capable, well-documented product. The reasons to look elsewhere sit mostly in how its plans count and what each plan includes.

A factual answer with nothing behind it is blocked and passed to you instead.Finds the passages that most closely match the question and writes an answer from them, with your fallback message when nothing matches. Where we're the better pick

Where AI Chat Bot is the better choice

  • Every feature on every plan, counted per customer message

A message is one customer message answered, and the reply doesn't count again. The webhook, Google Calendar, daily or weekly re-reads and Results come with every plan, so the price you see is what the features cost. At 1,500 customer messages a month, ours is $19; the same volume is $59 on SiteGPT's smaller model and $365 on its default one. Plans.

  • Your facts are enforced, not requested

Every reply has to rest on a fact from your pages, your documents or an answer you wrote, and a factual reply with nothing behind it is stopped and handed to you. You can watch this on the Test page before a single customer sees it. How answers work.

  • A lead that waits gets chased

Both products email you a new lead. Ours adds a one-line summary of what they want, one reminder after 5 minutes if you haven't opened it, then a message to your backup contact, and urgent leads marked urgent. Missed callbacks are where small businesses lose jobs. Lead alerts.

  • Real appointment times, not only a link

Connect Google Calendar and the assistant offers your actual free times inside the chat, then writes the booking into your diary and tells you. Or keep the booking page you already use. Bookings.

  • Rules for your trade, already written

SiteGPT's templates set up the lead form. Ours set up behavior: a dentist's assistant never gives clinical advice, a roofer's never promises what insurance pays, a law firm's says early that it isn't a lawyer. All 25 business types.

Where they're the better pick

Where SiteGPT is the better choice

  • Much bigger knowledge

SiteGPT's Starter covers 1,000 pages of 2,500 characters each, Scale 50,000, from websites, files, YouTube, Notion, Google Drive, GitHub and more. We read up to 50 pages and 20 documents per website, which suits a local business site but not a large catalog or help center.

  • Your team can take over live

With human support on, your staff reply inside the chat or take a conversation from the AI in SiteGPT's dashboard, and from Growth in its iPhone app. We have no shared inbox: after the alert, you reply by phone or email.

  • More channels, an API and model choice

SiteGPT answers on Messenger, Slack, Google Chat, Crisp, Zendesk and WhatsApp (some by plan or add-on), has an API, CLI and MCP server, and lets you pick GPT-4.1 or GPT-4.1 mini. We answer on your website and a hosted chat page, with one model.

  • Security paperwork and reviews

SiteGPT reports a SOC 2 Type II examination and GDPR certification, offers a HIPAA agreement on Enterprise, and holds 4.9 from 12 reviews on G2 (October 1, 2026). We're new: no SOC 2 report and no customer reviews yet.

Everything AI Chat Bot does

What you get, on every plan

One assistant that answers your website visitors from your own facts, takes their details, books them in and hands you anything it can't answer. Every plan carries all of this; plans differ by how many messages they answer in full and how many websites they cover.

Answers you can trust

  • Answers from your website and documents

Paste your address and it reads your key pages in about a minute, and up to 40 once you sign up. Add price lists or brochures as PDF, Word or text files, and write your own answers to common questions. How it works.

  • Says when it doesn't know

An answer has to come from your facts or quote your own pages word for word. When nothing covers a question, it says so and passes it to you instead of guessing. Custom chatbot.

  • Stays up to date

It re-reads your website every week, or every day on Growth and Pro, and emails you when a price or policy it quotes has changed.

  • Answers in your customer's language

It replies in the language the visitor writes in, from the same facts, and the chat's buttons switch to that language too.

Leads, bookings and handoffs

  • Captures the lead

It answers first, then asks for a name, a way to reach them and what they need, and keeps the full conversation with the lead. Lead generation.

  • Email alerts in seconds

Each lead arrives by email with a one-line summary of what they want. Unanswered, you get one reminder after 5 minutes, then your backup contact is told. Urgent leads are marked urgent. Lead alerts.

  • Books appointments

It sends customers to the booking page you already use, or connects to Google Calendar and offers your real free times. Bookings.

  • A person is always one tap away

A Talk to a person button sits under every reply. Asking for you sends you their question and details at once. Human handoff.

  • Sends leads to your CRM

A webhook passes each lead to Zapier or Make, and from there into HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce or anything else. CRM guides.

Control and proof

  • Check answers before customers see them

The Test page shows its answers to the questions your customers ask. Fix one in a step, and preview what an edit changes before you save it. Test and correct.

  • Rules for your kind of business

25 business types each come with their own rules: a roofer's assistant never promises what insurance pays, a dentist's never gives clinical advice. Business types.

  • Results measured against a control group

Hold back a small share of visitors from seeing it, and Results compares the two groups, so you see what it adds rather than every lead it touched. Customers' ratings of their chats show there too. Results.

  • Your data, yours to take

Download your leads and conversations as a spreadsheet, choose how long they're kept, and delete your account yourself. Security and privacy.

On your website

  • One line of code, or a plugin

Paste one line into any website, install the free WordPress plugin, or share your own chat page link. Chat widget.

  • Never in the way

It never pops open by itself, takes your colors, and goes full screen on phones so it's easy to use.

  • Answers around the clock

Evenings and weekends get the same answers as office hours, and urgent leads can wake you if you want them to. After hours.

What it costs

What it costs at the volumes a small business has

SiteGPT counts both sides of a conversation, so we double each volume to get its messages. Its price then depends on the model: GPT-4.1 mini, which its docs recommend for most chatbots, or GPT-4.1, which new chatbots start on. Prices are monthly.
Customer messages a monthAI Chat BotSiteGPT
300Starter: $19Starter: $59 on GPT-4.1 mini (600 of its 4,000 messages). On GPT-4.1: Starter plus one $59 pack, $118.
1,500Starter: $19Starter: $59 on GPT-4.1 mini (3,000 messages). On GPT-4.1: Growth plus four $59 packs, $365.
4,000Growth: $49, covering up to 5 websitesStarter plus one $59 pack on GPT-4.1 mini, $118. On GPT-4.1: Scale plus eight $59 packs, $901.

SiteGPT prices from its pricing page and plans and limits, read October 1, 2026. Assumes each customer message gets one reply (2 SiteGPT messages), one model for the whole month, and that a 5,000-message pack counts in GPT-4.1 mini messages. Billed yearly, SiteGPT is $39, $79 or $259 a month with add-ons at $39, and ours is $17, $43 or $109. To remove the badge add $59 a month on SiteGPT or $19 on ours. A CRM webhook needs SiteGPT's Scale plan at $429; ours is on every plan.

Switching

How to switch from SiteGPT

  1. Paste your website into the demo

It reads your key pages in about a minute and you can chat with it straight away, with no account. Sign up and it reads up to 40 pages in the background. How it works.

  2. Bring over what SiteGPT knew

Upload your price lists and brochures as PDF, Word or text files, and copy your SiteGPT custom responses and text snippet into your own answers, which outrank your website. YouTube, Notion and Drive sources, instructions, chat history and the iPhone app don't carry over. Export your SiteGPT leads as CSV first.

  3. Set alerts and bookings, then test

Choose where lead emails go and add a backup contact, paste your booking link or connect Google Calendar, then check the answers on the Test page and fix any in a step. Bookings.

  4. Swap the code, then cancel

Remove SiteGPT's embed code, then paste our one line or install the WordPress plugin. A paid SiteGPT plan keeps working to the end of its billing period after you cancel, so you can run both while you check.

Questions

Questions buyers ask

Is AI Chat Bot a good SiteGPT alternative?

Yes, for a local or small business whose website is a few dozen pages and whose goal is leads and bookings. If you need thousands of pages, live takeover or more channels, SiteGPT is the better fit. The quickest test is to try ours on your own site and ask it something your pages don't say.

Is SiteGPT free?

No. SiteGPT has no free plan; it offers a seven-day trial that needs a card, and a demo bot trained on its own website. AI Chat Bot has a Free plan of 100 customer messages a month that keeps your assistant running for as long as you use it.

Does AI Chat Bot answer in other languages, like SiteGPT?

Yes. It replies in the language the customer writes in, from the same facts, and the chat's buttons switch to that language too. SiteGPT lists 95 languages; we don't keep a list, so try your customers' languages in the demo before you decide.

Can AI Chat Bot read as much as SiteGPT?

No. We keep up to 50 pages and 20 documents per website, chosen from your sitemap or added by address. That covers the services, prices, areas and policies of most local businesses; a shop with thousands of product pages needs SiteGPT or a similar tool.

Can my team reply inside the chat, as with SiteGPT?

Not today. The assistant hands the conversation to you by email with the customer's question and details, and you call or email them back. If live chat with your staff matters most, SiteGPT's takeover and iPhone app are the better fit.

What happens if I stop paying?

On ours, you move to the Free plan: the assistant keeps answering 100 customer messages a month in full, and your leads and conversations stay yours to download. On SiteGPT, the chatbots stop answering when the subscription ends and their data is scheduled for deletion 30 days later.

SiteGPT is a trademark of its owner. AI Chat Bot isn't affiliated with or endorsed by SiteGPT. Competitor details come from their own public pages on the date shown and can change; tell us if something is out of date and we'll correct it.
